Hollywood Records

Selena Gomez was signed to Hollywood Records when she was in The Scene and left after 5 years. This may have been due to differences with the label as they did not want her in a band but rather as a solo artist so they could tap into her fanbase.

Hollywood records, Inc. is owned by Disney Music Group and is distributed by the Universal Music Group. The main focuses of the label in terms of genre is; pop, rock, alternative, hip hop and country genres. They also specialize in mature recordings that aren’t suitable for the flagship of Walt Disney Records.

Founded 28 years ago in the US and have a wide portfolio of artists such as; Zendaya, Demi Lovato, Sabrina Carpenter, R5, Olivia Holt, Sofia Carson and much more.

Selena Gomez is now signed to both Interscope Records and Polydor Records UK.

Interscope

In 1990 Jimmy Lovine and Ted Field founded Interscope with Atlantic Records. The label differed from other companies as it gave artists total creative control. 

In less than a year after it was founded it achieved profitability. The label also acquired marketing and distribution rights to Death Row Records (including famous artists; Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. 

Interscope records is now a subsidiary of Vivendi S.A. and owned by the Universal Music Group. Some of the most recognised artists include Eminem, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Tory Lanez.

Polydor UK

Founded over 104 years ago, this British record label operates under the Universal Music Group. It's close relationship with Universal’s Interscope records allows them to distribute Interscope releases in the UK, and vice versa. 

Many famous acts include; Lana Del Ray, Ellie Goulding and Cheryl Cole.
